Biking at 24 Weeks Pregnant

This is a series I’m doing where I document how it feels to commute by bike during my pregnancy every few weeks. You can see the previous ones at 14 & 20 weeks.

Or I guess Not biking at 24 weeks pregnant.

We had a pretty big snow storm about a week ago and unfortunately, the city has not removed any of the snow from the bike lanes.

Snow filled bike lane beside a cleared car lane.
A picture of the snow filled bike lanes near my home, the white line is where the bike lane marking used to be.

In fact, the sad/infuriating thing is that roads and sidewalks are clear but the bike lanes have been used for storing snow. Toronto and priorities I guess 🤷‍♀️

So that means that I’ve just not been biking, which sucks, but safety first. I hope the weather will turn around soon and do a bit of melting so I can go back to bike commuting to the office. In the mean time, I’m mostly doing yoga and a bit of light strength training at home to maintain any strength and mobility I have. These days, I’m walking slower and get more winded easily. But that’s OK, it’s par for the course. My energy levels are good and I hope I’ll get to keep biking for a little while longer 🙏.
